Jen was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on July 17, 1949, to Paul and Lucille “Jo” (Mensch) Brasch. She married Danny Stark on August 30, 1969, in Waterloo. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sullivan. She worked as a substitute aid in all the schools within the Jefferson School District for the past 18 years and for the past six years with kindergartners as a teacher’s aide at West Elementary School in Jefferson. Jen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and community member who touched the lives of many, and she will be greatly missed by all.
As an active community member, she served as the leader of the Sullivan Stars 4-H club for many years and participated in other civic organizations as well. Jen enjoyed travel and shopping and giving gifts to others she loved. One of her legacies was the more than 150 Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls she made for family and friend’s children when they were born. During her illness she started 6 new dolls that remain incomplete waiting for future grandchildren.

Dan Morris, known as Dr. Dan to his students, dedicated his life to journalism, education and the pursuit of the democratic debate. He received his bachelors and masters degrees in Journalism from Northwestern University and went on to obtain his Doctorate in Journalism from the University of Missouri. He was a reporter for many years at The Kansas City Star before he returned to academia as a professor of journalism at Boise State University. He relished his role as advisor for The Arbiter, the Boise State University student newspaper.
Dan had many passions including traveling the world, his beloved cats, spending time with his family, a good debate, and singing in his barbershop quartet.
Dan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the spring of 2008. The Boise Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network provided friendship, hope, and support to Dan and his family. To this, we will always be grateful.
